ABSTRACT

Objective:To explore the correlation between fish intake and cognitive function in the elderly. Methods:Based on data for Hubei province of the Chinese Health and Nutrition Survey 2015, 335 participants aged 60 and over were included in the study.Face-to-face cognitive screening was used to evaluate cognitive function.Fish intake was converted into four classifications: 0 g/d, 0-50 g/d, 50-100 g/d, and >100 g/d.The multiple linear regression model was used to analyze the correlation between fish intake and cognitive function in the elderly. Results:There were 335 subjects, including 142 males(42.4%)and 193 females(57.6%). In the overall population( F=4.19, P=0.006)and females( F=2.30, P=0.079), cognitive scores of the elderly increased with increased fish intake, but no increase was found in males( F=1.99, P=0.119). After adjusting for confounding factors such as age, sex, urban and rural living, education level, marital status, smoking, alcohol consumption, daily total energy intake, dietary fat-to-energy intake ratio, BMI, history of hypertension and stroke, fish intake >100 g/d in the elderly was positively correlated with the cognitive score( β=2.68, 95% CI: 0.38-4.98), compared with the lowest fish intake group(0 g/d); gender-stratified analysis showed that the regression coefficient was 4.26(95% CI: 1.23-7.30)for women and 1.70(-1.76-5.15)for men. Conclusions:Increased fish intake is positively correlated with improved cognitive function in elderly women, but the same is not true in elderly men.Increasing fish intake may be beneficial in preventing cognitive decline in elderly women.

ABSTRACT

Objective@#To analyze the distribution and the molecular biological characteristics of variant subtypes (H5, H7 and H9) of avian influenza virus (AIV) in the live poultry related external environment of Quanzhou form 2014 to 2017, and provide regional references for the prevention, control and early-warning of human infections.@*Methods@#Samples from monitoring sites of live poultry were collected in Quanzhou from 2014 to 2017. Influenza A and variant subtypes of AIV (H5, H7 and H9) were detected by real time RT-PCR, and the detection results were further analyzed statistically. Furthermore, the HA and NA genes of four representative H7N9 strains were sequenced, and the results were further analyzed with DNAstar and MEGA7.0.@*Results@#Among the samples from external environment, the positive rate of nucleic acid of influenza A was 29.04% (377/1 289), of which the positive rates of H5, H7 and H9 subtypes were 3.80%, 13.34% and 12.02%, respectively. The positive rate of H7N9 was higher than those of the other subtypes in all monitored years, of which the highest rate was found in 2017 (21.88%). As to the different types of samples, chopping board possessed the highest positive rate of influenza A (65.4%), followed by waste water (59.3%) and drinking water for the poultry (29.6%). Among the different monitoring sites, the positive rate of poultry farm is 6.94%, far lower than that in the open air (61.7%) and the live poultry trading market (52.8%). Sequencing of the HA and NA genes of four strains of H7N9 showed that the strains from external environment and the strains from H7N9 patients belonged to Pearl River Delta and Yangtze River Delta lineage, respectively. The cleavage sites of HA proteins of these four strains were all PKGR/G without highly pathogenic mutation. Meanwhile, they were low pathogenic H7N9 without oseltamivir resistant mutation (R292 K in NA), while they all possessed the E627 K mutation in the PB2 genes associated with virulence.@*Conclusions@#H7N9 AIV existed in the live poultry related external environment of Quanzhou, especially the farmers’ and the live poultry trading market, so that more persistent surveillance could be needed in the future.

ABSTRACT

Objective To explore the treatment effect and application value of proximal humeral locking plate combined with injectable bone graft in the treatment of proximal humeral fractures. Methods 86 patients with proximal humeral fractures were selected, using the random number table method they were randomly divided into the observation group and control group, each group had 43 cases. The control group was treated with locking plate method, and the observation group was treated by the combination of artificial bone and locking plate. The therapeutic effect of the two groups was observed. Results The excellent and good rate of the observation group was 93.03%,that of the control group was 74.42%,the difference was statistically significant between the two groups(x2 =5.460 3,P <0.05).In observation group, the fracture healing time was (11.78 ± 3.64) weeks, the shoulder joint function score was (96.87 ± 4.23) ; those of the control group were (19.65 ± 6.27) weeks,(78.73 ± 8.28),the differences were statistically significant between the two groups (t =7.118 2,12.793 4,all P < 0.05).The incidence rate of complications of the observation group was 6.98%,which was significantly lower than 30.23% of the control group (x2 =7.678 6,P < 0.05).Conclusion Proximal humeral locking plate combined with injectable bone graft in the treatment of proximal humeral fracture has reliable curative effect, short fracture healing time and mild surgical complications, which is worth popularizing in clinical.

ABSTRACT

Objective To understand and analyze the situation of orthopedic nursing manpower resources in grade- Ⅲ general hospital in Shanghai and provide empirical evidence for appropriate allocation and exploitation of nursing manpower resources. Methods Data were collected by questionnaire and then underwent analysis. Results In 2009,the number of authorized beds was 1866,the actual number of open beds was 2007.The number of nurses was 595 (2 male). The ratio of ward bed and nurse were 1:0.319 and 1:0.296, calculated by the authorized beds and authorized beds, respectively. The average age of head nurses was (37.53±6.11 ) years old, average working life span was (17.87 ± 6.16) years; college degree or above accounted for 95.56%; middle professional titles accounted for 62.22%. College degree or above accounted for 75.13% in nurses, junior professional titles accounted for 92.1%; age group is mostly concentrated in the 20 to 29 years of age, accounted for 67.06%; working life span concentrated within 10 years, accounted foi 73.11%. The education level mainly is primary school in the care workers (carer), accounted for 45.83%; concentrated in the 40 to 49 years of age, accounted for 60.42%; working life span concentrated in more than 6 years, accounted for 55.21%. Conclusions There are shortage of orthopedic nursing manpower resources, unreasonable allocated structure, lack of male nurses in grade- Ⅲ general hospital in Shanghai. The management of the care workers should be standardized.

ABSTRACT

ObjectiveTo evaluate the effect of psychological intervention on satisfaction degree of patients with severe chest trauma. Methods90 patients with severe chest trauma were randomly divid-ed into the observation group and the control group with 45 cases in each, the control group was treated with conventional care, the observation group received conventional care combined with psychological intervention. The satisfaction degree was compared between the two groups after treatment and interven-tion. ResultsThe total satisfaction degree of the observation group was 71.11%, which was significantly higher than that of the control group, 46.67%. ConclusionsApplication of psychological intervention in treatment of patients with severe chest trauma is effective to improve their satisfaction degree, which should be applied in clinic.
